Pharmacy faculty (Dr. Eli Phillips, Dr. Marcos Oliveira and Dr. Kevin Lord) have returned from Brazil Monday Aug 19, where they implemented for the first time a joint program between PUCPR UIW Prati-Donaduzzi From Aug 12-16.
The Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR) campus Toledo received this week four students of Pharmacy University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, located in the United States. They participate in an exchange program 40-hour course as ‘Pharmaceutical regulatory affairs’, in the pharmaceutical field.
The exchange is part of a program in partnership with the PUCPR, University of the Incarnate Word and the Pharmaceutical Industry Prati-Donaduzzi. The objective is to promote the exchange of experiences among Pharmacy students from Brazil, US and professionals who work in the company and academic faculty from abroad.
Altogether, there are 14 participants, four students from the campus of Catholic University of Curitiba, three from the PUCPR Toledo, four professionals from Prati-Donaduzzi and four students from the University of the Incarnate Word. During the course developed jointly by PUCPR faculty, UIW faculty and Prati-Professionals, Students learned about the comparative regulatory processes used in the US (FDA) and in Brazil National Agency for Sanitary Surveillance (ANVISA),
The four UIW Pharmacy students will continue their Industrial Pharmacy experience at Prati-Donaduzzi for the remaining five weeks of their APPE elective rotation.
