Elaine Olson has 41+ years of medical transcription experience and was one of the first medical transcriptionist to become Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) – formerly the American Association for Medical Transcription or AAMT – in 2002. She was the Founding President of Tele-Trans Medical Transcription Service, Inc. of San Antonio, TX; her career as a consultant has given her the privilege of working within the U.S., the Philippines and Trinidad/Tobago. Elaine has been a member of AHDI since 1981 and has held offices on both local and state levels, including President of the Texas Association for Medical Transcription (TAMT) for two terms.She served on the Board of Directors for the Medical Transcription Industry Alliance (MTIA) as Secretary and as the Annual Conference Chair from 2001 to 2005, as MTIA Executive Director from 2005-2007, and served two years as chair of the Advisory Committee for St. Philips College Transcription Department, San Antonio, TX. She has been featured in articles in Advance, For the Record, JAAMT, and Entrepreneur. She has given presentations at various industry conferences and authored “Idioms…Know The Lingo” published by Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins in 2004.
