ENTRY-LEVEL DPT

Full-Time

Multiple12-month tenured track faculty positions in a developing program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop curriculum content
  • Team teaching in a problem-based curriculum
  • Active engagement in a scholarly agenda
  • Service to program, university, community and profession

Required Education

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program
  • Earned academic (PhD, EdD, DSc) or clinical (DPT) doctoral degree

Required Experience - Minimum of 5 years’ experience as licensed physical therapist

Required Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Texas
  • Member of the American Physical Therapy Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience in a physical therapy academic program
  • Prior clinical instructor experience
  • Active in clinical practice
  • Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and academic counseling skills.
  • Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology or proven ability to learn these skills.
  • Expertise in teaching content area
  • Willingness to develop effective tutoring skills
  • Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal and practice issues affecting the profession of physical therapy. * Able to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.

Part-Time

Multiple adjunct/associate faculty positions in a developing problem-based Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Adjunct/Associate faculty members are assigned for one term at a time. Adjunct/associate faculty members are not eligible to participate in the University benefit programs. This applicant pool will remain online and allows the Doctor of Physical Therapy program to hire interested applicants based on student enrollment needs.Essential Functions

  • Team-teaching in a problem-based curriculum including preparatory team meetings.
  • Tutoring of small group of students.
  • Evaluation of students’ performance in small group sessions.
  • Teaching assistant in skills development laboratory.
  • Participation in comprehensive practical examination.

Required Education - Graduated from an accredited physical therapy program.

Required Experience - Minimum of 5 years’ experience as licensed physical therapist

Required Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

  • Licensed to practice in Texas or eligible for licensure.
  • Member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Earned doctoral degree or enrolled in a doctoral program.
  • Certified clinical specialization
  • Prior teaching experience in a physical therapy academic program
  • Prior clinical instructor experience
  • Active in clinical practice
  • Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels
